WHAT INTERIOR DESIGNERS ARE SAYING

As a designer I appreciate an artist who can enhance my vision for my clients spaces. Ros's work makes neutral spaces so much more vibrant and modern and allows people to enjoy the power of color in a very sophisticated way. Her palette is always evolving and I appreciate her willingness to work closely with me through the process of a client project. Her passion and the symphony of color she paints with make her my go-to artist for wonderful unique pieces. Her art takes you on a joy ride! She has an Artist's soul...which you can feel in her work.

Ros’ art has the perfect balance of texture, color and abstract geometry to make an entire room more personalized for my clients. Working with Ros, I am able to dial up or dial down the energy and the attention the art commands in each space. Cohesion is critical to the flow and overall ease of moving through a home.

Working with Ros’ expert sense of color and style, I am able to prioritize and execute pieces that work with similar media to naturally bring together adjacent spaces. For example, I like to work with pairs of Ros’ art hanging throughout my projects to preserve continuity so that furniture selections can range from traditional, eclectic, or modern.

Ros’ work speaks to how carefully curated each piece was for my clients and truly sets the balance right in the middle for equal focus on the furniture and the art. I love to frame her work in metal shadow boxes, from silver & gold to pewter’s, black or white gloss lacquer - I find this format celebrates the three dimensionality of Ros’ media. I consistently get the same feedback: this art is the WOW factor the room needed!

MORE TESTIOMONIALS

I first encountered Ros’ work at an art pop up in Lake Forest. I fell in love with her choice of color, texture, and the whole vibe of her paintings. I contacted her to learn more about her work. Ros asked what I was looking for and graciously offered to bring some of her lovely paintings to my home. It was such a treat to be able to see her art in our home instead of trying to envision what it might look like. My five kids (and budding artists themselves) were so excited as well. Ros invited the whole family to her studio to see all her work and works in process. She was so relaxed with them, answered endless questions and even allowed the kids to feel the paintings. It was such a special visit and we ended up taking two of the most lovely paintings home with us. It’s so rare to have such a personal connection to the artist’s work that is hanging in your home. We absolutely loved the whole process and of course, the end result.

Framed Morning Glory abstract piece by artist, Roslyne Smith.

"I absolutely LOVE Morning Glory! When I saw it, I knew that it would be the perfect painting to add color and focal point to my room. I love the vibrant colors and the painting is so unique. I have it placed so that when you enter my house, it's one of the first things that you see."

This beautiful lady inspires me everyday to appreciate myself and my potential to grow and give. She reminds me that sometimes when we close our eyes, our vision becomes brighter and clearer. She is vibrant and energetic yet radiates peace and tranquility. There is so much beauty and details in her simplicity and I am reminded how truly blessed I am to have the honor of lighting Shabbat candles every Friday night. Thank you Ros for creating this powerful spiritually uplifting magnificent piece for me.

Gila art piece

This custom painting I received from Ros was beyond what I had expected. The delicate features of the woman at the center, blended with the fusion of colors surrounding it was perfect. I hung the painting above my computer where I spend so much of my day. I find that looking up at it provides me serenity and a brief escape from everyday life. As with the other paintings I have gotten from Ros, this one perfectly tied together my family room. The blues at the top allow for our carpet to pop, and the painting added some much needed color to the beige walls. I truly love this piece!

Tikvah art piece next to framed Hebrew writing

We are all familiar with the saying “A picture is worth a thousand words.” It couldn’t be more true about this beautiful painting that was gifted to me by my extremely talented and generous friend, Ros. The woman in this painting represents strength and resilience. The shabbat candles represent tradition, comfort, and serenity. All the colors represent calmness and tranquility. At a time in my life when I needed all these resources the most, I would sit for long periods of time staring at my beautiful painting and get the courage to move forward and tackle the next challenge. I will forever be grateful to Ros for this priceless gift.

Keshet art piece by Ros Smith

I own one of Ros's Jewish women series. I met Ros as a friend and traveled with her and a group of other Jewish women to Israel, with no knowledge that she was an artist. We were bonded over being Jewish women and our love for Israel.

Our trip to Israel brought many opportunities for growth, questions, insights and elevation of our souls. Ros and I had that in common. Upon our return home in the states, Ros and I met up and that was when I learned of her being an artist.

I fell in love with every painting I saw. Each had a uniqueness to it and yet they all said the same thing: the power, depth and beauty of the Jewish women. I was honored to help with naming some, and lucky to get to own an original that hangs in our front hall and catches the sundown through our windows making the gold accents in the painting feel like they are glowing.

Neshama art piece by Ros Smith

Ros is a dear friend and we have seen each other through difficult times. These last few years have been very hard for me. When she began painting her faces of women for The Shabbat Shalom Art Project, I saw this lovely one. The face and meaning spoke to me. As I told Ros, the painting was whimsical, spiritual and like a Vogue fashion illustration from long ago. The hat, the eyes, the color and the meaning all came together. She represents the Eishet Chayil or Woman of Valor. I wanted something that I could look at daily to remind me of carrying on. I made sure to place it where I could easily view it. She is enchanting and I love her.
